This session focuses on contactless transport and discusses the different types of schemes currently planned and in operation. Are the different operators investing in now or for the future? What is necessary to spread ticketing beyond individual schemes? Are closed schemes future proof? Is contactless really worth the investment? With millions of pounds to be invested by the UK government in improving ticketing solutions, we review the different possible alternatives – both here and abroad.

This is the Implementers’ chance to put their questions to the industry and, after their initial implementation of the technology, state what they believe the real impact of contactless technology will be.
